2nd Annual 100-Mile Wilderness Sled Dog Race Cancelled
Wednesday, March 15, 2006
Despite the hundreds of hours of volunteer work completed in preparation for the 2nd Annual 100-Mile Wilderness Sled Dog Race, we must cancel this event due to lack of snow and dangerous ice conditions.

Many volunteers and many financial sponsors have donated generously to help us prepare for this event. Over 25 teams registered, to all of whom we are offering the chance to remain registered for next year's event. Sponsors who have contributed to this year's event will have their business or organization name included in next year's event at no additional charge. We are very fortunate to have such a strong backing by the business community from Greenville to Brownville – thank you all for your support. A special thanks to our main sponsor – Plum Creek – who made possible our $5,000 purse for the mushers. This same purse will be up for grabs in 2007!

Many thanks for the long hours put in by the Moosehead Riders Snowmobile Club, the Brownville Snowmobile Club, volunteers from the Appalachian Mountain Club, and the hard work of our steering committee.

Please join us AGAIN for the 2nd Annual 100-Mile Wilderness Sled Dog Race to be held February 10, 2007, starting in Greenville and racing to Brownville and back. If weather conditions do not allow our race on this date next year, March 17, 2007 has been chosen as an alternate date.
