AUGUSTA - The Maine Land Use Regulation Commission (LURC) is currently revising its Comprehensive Land Use Plan (CLUP), which will dictate the rules and regulations for the 10 million plus acres in Maine's Unorganized Territory for the next decade or more. Significant changes to land use regulations are being proposed for the new CLUP that will affect all UT property owners, lessees and recreational users, according to the Coalition to Preserve and Grow Northern Maine. Seven public workshops to present the new CLUP and take public comments will be held this spring, including a session on Wednesday, April 30 at Greenville High School. Other dates and locations are Monday, April 28 at the Presque Isle Inn and Convention Center; Tuesday, April 29 at Stearns High School in Millinocket; Thursday, May 1 at the Rangeley Inn; Monday, May 5 at Holiday Inn By the Bay in Portland; Wednesday, May 7 at the Augusta Civic Center; and Thursday, May 8 at the University of Maine Machias. All meetings are scheduled for 6 to 9 p.m. Rescheduled dates, if necessary, will be held the week of May 12.
