DOVER-FOXCROFT – Register now for Summer 2004 Session 2 courses that begin in July at the Penquis Higher Education Center and its Interactive Television (ITV) regional sites. University of Maine System and Maine Community College courses are provided daytime and evening on-site at the Penquis college center and its sites in Guilford and Greenville, with a university instructor in the classroom, or via interactive television, two-way videoconferencing, or computer conferencing. In addition to classrooms, the college center is equipped with 22 computers for student use. Current college students in Maine degree programs and out-of-state college students in Maine for the summer are especially welcome to check out the courses that will be offered. Most 2-3/4 hour on-site, ITV, and CV courses during Session 2 start the week of July 6 and run twice a week for seven weeks; however, there are a few exceptions. This session's courses are broadcast by six of the UMS and by one of the community college regionally accredited campuses. Students should work with their advisor to see how these courses will transfer into their degree programs. There is still time to earn college credits this summer and there is no need for a student to spend time traveling to a campus to do so; the campuses will deliver many courses right here in the Penquis region. Classes begin next month. To register or for a free copy of the summer course guide, including course descriptions and class schedules, visit www.learn.maine.edu, stop by the Penquis Higher Education Center, 50 Mayo Street, Dover-Foxcroft, or call 1-800-590-2942 or 564-2942. |
