14th Annual Forest Heritage Days Wednesday, August 04, 2004
Learn about the history, heritage, and present day uses of the Maine Woods! Come to the 14th Annual FOREST HERITAGE DAYS Festival, August 13 and 14 in Greenville !!! On Friday, start the day off with the traditional Woods Resource Bus & Boat Tour**, "Yesterday and Today: From the Woods and the Water", which includes a slide show on the last log drive by Marc Johnson, followed by a Baked Bean Supper put on by the Ready Workers, and a "Music in the Gazebo" concert featuring "Under the Song Tree" in the evening. Following a Lumberjack Breakfast at the Ready Workers Community House, Saturday's activities on the Greenville school campus include the Game of Logging - a woodsmen's competition, the C.A. Dean Hospital Auxiliary Fair, the locally produced exhibit entitled, "Finding Middle Ground for Maine's Woods", crafter's fair, lots of food and demonstrations / entertainment by Clum Spencer and Matthew Heinz - the "Northwoods Balladeer". Forest Heritage Days is sponsored by the Natural Resource Education Center, (NREC).
