Greenville retains two dates By Jonathan Pratt - ROCKWOOD - The Land Use Regulation Commission (LURC) met at the Rockwood Community Center on Wednesday, November 7, for their regular monthly meeting. Included on their agenda was the scheduling of hearing ddates for the Plum Creek proposal. The dates for the hearings had been scheduled for November, but the Commission voted on October 10 to postpone those hearings in reaction to revisions made to the plan by Plum Creek. The latest round of revisions were in response to concerns by State and Federal agencies, as spelled out in their submittals to LURC in late August. The revised Public Sessions schedule for the Plum Creek proposal will be Saturday, December 1 in Greenville. The public sessions will move to Augusta the following day. They start up again in Portland on Saturday, December 15, and a second date for Greenville on Sunday, December 16. Bart Harvey, Chair of the Commission, stated that, "These public sessions are just for that, the public, and not the intervenors. I want to make that clear right now." The Party Sessions are scheduled for the week(s) of December 3, 10 and January 14. Those party sessions are to be held in the Augusta area. The party sessions will be open to the public, but only intervenors may speak. Specific dates, times and meeting place(s) have yet to be designated. The Commissioners also voted to cancel their regular monthly meeting that was previously scheduled for December 5 in response to the full schedule for that week, and the weeks immediately following.
