GREENVILLE, Maine — A 17-year veteran of the Augusta Police Department has accepted the position of sergeant of the Greenville Police Department. Jeff Pomerleau, 39, will begin his new duties on Dec. 6 at a starting salary of $42,000. "I’m very pleased," Greenville Police Chief Scott MacMaster said Thursday. "He comes to us with a great deal of experience both in patrol and as a supervisor." Pomerleau, one of seven candidates for the position, said he is looking forward to his new job. He said Thursday he grew up in a very small, tight section of Augusta but explained that Augusta has changed. "Greenville reminds me of the section of Augusta I grew up in," he said. "It seems it held onto its family values." While he is a huge outdoors fan, Pomerleau said his first love is people. He and his family soon will move to Greenville. |
