2005 Piscataquis County Keeping Kids on Track Grant Program Requests Applications
Tuesday, December 07, 2004
Piscataquis County - Programs that help adolescents age 10-14 are encouraged to apply for funding through the Keeping Kids On Track committee. The goal of United Way’s Keeping Kids on Track is to increase skills and assets in youth age 10-14 by creating or expand community grassroots programs. The idea is that giving kids a safe and enriching place to go during non-school hours and mentors to guide them can be the difference between a future of promise and a future of trouble. The Piscataquis County committee has $2,500 from the United Way of Eastern Maine to distribute to programs that meet the needs of adolescents.

The Piscataquis County Keeping Kids on Track Committee is now accepting proposals. “Newly formed or established organizations can apply. The application is very simple and we encourage any group working with youth age 10-14 years old to consider applying for this grant” said Sara Yasner, KKOT coordinator at United Way of Eastern Maine.

For more information or to get an application, please contact Susan R. Crippen, Piscataquis County KKOT Committee Chair, c/o North Country Healthy Communities at 997-3706 / susancrippen@gwi.net. The deadline for returning completed applications is February 1, 2005.
