When asked if planes would be stored in the facility, Folsom said that a plane could be landed in the industrial park and stored in the hangar but he sees storage for snowmobiles and trailers, golf carts and boats as being the most realistic storage items. "Since the building will be heated, we can also store antique cars or sports cars used only in the summer months," he said. "Plus we'll have room for smaller storage items as well," he added. Folsom said that he has needed to find a way to make a living in the winter months when he is unable to fly and hopes this hangar will help. "When I get ready to retire, this might be something for me to do," he said. "We have seven lots in the industrial park and could build more structures. I'm trying something new all the time; and if I remember right, President Bush told us to keep spending, so I'm only doing my retail patriotic duty," he added with a smile. Folsom still supports improvements being done at the airport. "What I'm doing should not affect that," he said. "This is just another branch of Folsom's Air Service. And of course, everything is subject to change." Neighbor Ken Snowden is happy about the hangar going in. "It doesn't bother me a bit," he said. "Any business that helps the Junction is fine. The more the merrier," he added. Harold Blanchard, another Junction resident joked that he was hoping for a job as air traffic controller. He's disappointed that the hangar will only be used as a storage facility but said that he supports Max 100 percent. |
